Learn how to build an email list and make money online without a website. These Pinterest Tips will help you earn passive income on the side working from home. #pinteresttips #makemoneyonline #passiveincome

Yes, you can build an email list and make money with Pinterest! No, you don’t need a website for that!

Sounds crazy? In fact, it’s way easier than you think.

But why would you need an email list, if you don’t have a blog or website, to drive traffic to?

An email list isn’t just a tool to increase web traffic. It’s also a selling machine!

The click-through rate of emails is 20x higher than if you post a link on a website and 50x higher than when you post it on Social Media.

How much is an email list worth?

Well, this depends on what you send them.

If you let those email addresses just sit on your computer and never send them anything, you won’t make any money from it. The same is true, if you only send them cat memes.

If you value the people on this list, though, and send them helpful tips, tricks and the occassional deal on your own products or affiliate products, you can make a good living from a well-nurtured email list.

A good rule of thumb is: 1 person on your email list = $1 / month.

Build an email list of 1000 people and you have a very nice side income, that will only take you about 5 hours a MONTH to gather new leads and send useful emails.

If you build an email list of 10.000 people and nurture it well, that’s six figures a year! A full-time income for a job with less than part-time work-hours!

Did I convince you to start building your email list today? Good! Then, let’s get started on How to build an email list with Pinterest – even when you don’t have a website.

Follow these steps to build an email list on Pinterest

1. Create an Opt-In Incentive

Create an Opt-In Incentive (like a Cheatsheet, a Template or a short eBook), that your Pinterest audience will like.

If you have a certain niche, you’ll want to create an opt-in incentive related to this niche.

If you cover a broader range of topics, a Pinterest-related opt-in Incentive can work really well.

Some options for Pinterest-related Opt-In Incentives include:

  • Pinterest Marketing Calendar
  • Track your Pinterest Stats Worksheet
  • Step by Step Guide to your first 1000 Pinterest Followers

5 Steps To Create An Awesome Opt-In Incentive

  1. Brainstorm 10 Ideas for your Pinterest Opt-In Incentive
  2. If you already have an audience (e.g. an email list, an Instagram Following or whatever) survey them on which of these options they’d find most helpful.
  3. If you don’t already have an audience, consider joining some Facebook groups either in your niche or on Pinterest Marketing. Then survey the group members on your options.
  4. Decide on which platform you’ll create your opt-in Incentive
  5. Create it!

The service, I use for creating my opt-in incentive is Beacon*.

The beautiful thing about Beacon is, that you can’t only create your opt-in incentives there, but you can also create various types of sign-up forms to collect email addresses on your website (if you have one) or even on social media with a simple link that leads to an opt-in form.

Some of my favorite features include:

  • Loads of Templates (for eBooks, Checklists, Resource Guides and more) + the possibility to save your own templates
  • Drag + Drop Editor
  • Smart PDFs (mobile optimized!)
  • Integrated Email Delivery
  • Automated Mock-Up Creation
  • Different Types of Call to Actions, such as Pop-Ups, embedded sign-up forms and Notification Bar

The best thing about Beacon is, that you can currently get a Lifetime deal of the Professional Account* for a whopping $67 (normally $588 / year) on AppSumo!

This means, you pay $67 once and NEVER EVER need to pay for it again. No recurring fees! Yay!

That’s a no-brainer!

2.  Set Up Your Email Client

01. Choose an Email provider to collect email addresses and send your free offer. Some popular options, that I can highly recommend are:

Convertkit (paid): Choose Convertkit, if you are serious about building your email list and monetizing it.

MailerLite (free for up to 1000 subscribers): Choose Mailerlite, if you’re just starting out and want to save some money in the beginning. Once you’re email list grows and you approach the 1000 subscriber mark, you can still switch to Convertkit for more advanced features.

02. Create your account.

03. Set up your Welcome Email, where you deliver your Opt-In Incentive

04. Create a Landing Page for your Opt-In Incentive. You can ususally do this within the Email Service Provider.

The Landing Page should include an option to opt-in for your email list as well as highlighting the benefits (not the features!), your free offer can bring to your reader. Make sure, the landing page is optimized for mobile, since many people use Pinterest on their phones.

3. Promote your offer!

  1. First add the link to your landing page in your Pinterest Profile Description. Write a sentence or two about the benefits this cheatsheet or whatever will offer your follower and throw in the link to your landing page.
  2. Create 3 Pins to Promote your offer, linking back to the landing page.
  3. Write 3 different keyword-dense Pin descriptions for each of the Pin-Images.
  4. Share the Pins to your boards as well as all the group boards, that you’re a part of and that fit the topic of your offer.

If you want to keep your sanity, while being active on Pinterest, I highly recommend, you automate pinning and re-pinning your posts with Tailwind*.

Using Tailwind*, my Pinterest account grows continually in Followers, Repins and also Referral Traffic to my Blog. I usually only invest about 1 hour / week in Pinterest. If it wasn’t for Tailwind, it would take me at least 5-10 hours / week to get the same results.

As a new user, you usually get 100 Pins for free. However, since I pin about 10-12 pins a day from Tailwind, this would only last me 7-10 days.

If you signup through my link* though, you’ll get a free month of all Plus Features, including unlimited Pins

(Full disclosure: If you sign up through my link, I’ll also get a month for free. This obviously doesn’t cost you a dime, so if you find my content helpful, this is a great way for you to give back. 🙂 It’s a win-win and I’d highly appreciate it!)
